If you rightclick the taskbar and do properties and then click "customize...", you can see every program you've ran, uninstalled or not!  Is there anything to get rid of these?  Messing around with AHK has left a bunch of crap in the list.

(*ahem* What I mean is, can anyone code it?  :D)

Good idea
I wonder what the 'Restore Defaults' button there does?

Cyeb:
It restores the defaults for the "hide when inactive" or the "always show" thingies on the side.

Have you tried CCleaner?  I know it can clean out some Windows MRU stuff.  But I'm not sure exactly what.  Also it would be a good idea to post your OS since these settings tend to get shuffled around with each new flavor of Windows.

I'd look at

www.vista64.com
http://www.sevenforums.com/

depending on your OS. There's probably a tutorial how to clear out various OS mru lists and cache. Also I'd be surprised if there wasn't a freebie on SoftPedia.com that would clean up the traces CCleaner misses.  They have a pretty extensive selection of Windows freeware.
