Old but I rarely check gnome-look and just saw this in the popular section.

housetier:
Interesting, but the system is not for me. I try to do as little as possible with the mouse. I have found awesome to really help that goal.

But if you are an apt mouse pusher, this might improve "performance" (as in getting tasks done).

Paul Keith:
Thanks for the link housetier. By chance do you know of any videos on it? That sounds cool but scary.

I could barely figure out vimperator for Firefox and I googled it and there's mention of a key called mod4.

My biggest worry with keyboard shortcuts is that the default settings might be off and it can be hard to find recommendations for custom key settings.

housetier:
mod4 usually is the windows-key.

Most of these keyboard-centric applications or addons come with a default keybing set. Often users create alternative layout to deal with conflicts. I am lucky to not suffer from such conflicts so I can go with the defaults.

Haven't found videos showcasing awesome yet, but am still looking.

housetier:
Now someone suggested this: http://video.google.de/videosearch?q=awesome+wm
