Hello,
for me it lookss like that FARR response a little bit more faster on WinXP than on Win7.
Can anyone confirm this behaviour?
On Windows 7 it always takes some seconds until FARR display the results.

Go to Program Options -> Settings -> General. Under Interactive memory use, try setting it to stay in memory longer (faster to wake up, uses more memory when minimized.)

try clearing your launch history list, see if that makes a difference.

Do you by chance have an anti-virus program installed on 7 that you didn't on XP? I haven't played with 7 enough to have seen a difference yet, but I know on XP my anti-virus has this effect... I've tried both AVG and Avira and they both do it, so I would assume others as well.

it' more slower than before in XP, really bore me a lot. I tried to modify the items in the "options", and this:
change the "result label path" from "one level path" to none, can reduce the delay obviously, you can try.

I was about to abandon FARR for Launchy when I found this thread. I found the one level path fix worked too.

Just FYI,
I came to this thread looking for a solution because mine was taking 2-3 seconds to pop up the history list, the difference is that I am on Vista.
I also made the one level path change and the results pop up very quickly now.

i'm having a hard time figuring out how to fix this because i can't reproduce the problem, or tell difference in speeds.
can any of you who have experienced this clearly reproduce it (ie you can clearly and reliably tell the speed difference as you switch between these settings), and is willing to help me beta test a fix?
