Free WinX DVD Author for download

(1/2) > >>

MilesAhead:
I havn't tried this program yet.  It's supposed to be full version no restriction other than you have to download it from the source page before the deadline:

Yeah, it's the same people that did the WinX DVD Ripper that was given away a bit ago.

sajman99:
Thanks- as usual, I'm a sucker for these giveaways despite the fact I'm usually disappointed and rarely keep 'em.

If somebody has time to check it out, please post your impressions.

Sorry to rain on your parade, sajman99

Downloaded both the decrypter and author software and both fail. the author doesn't even start because of a specific dll file that it installs. The decryptor has the same problem, but  a different dll.

The text on their webpage is also some weird (definitely non-native) English.

One good point though, the software from WinX comes with a de-installer...

this might have been already mentioned but imo, DVD Flick is a quite handy DVD authoring program and it's free.

Guess this and the DVD ripper are headed to the old recycle bin.  Looks like the best new is the Oct. 20 HC enc 0.24 beta has been released.  There's a notice on Video Help:

The MD5 sum for the zip file is the same as the one hank put on Doom9 on the 20th, so if you already copied the latest onto other apps you don't need to redo.

I've done a couple of runs with it in FAVC using 2 pass mode.  Seems good.
