It claims both 32 and 64 bit support from XP all the way to W7:

Thanks for the notice. I recall there was some considerable skepticism regarding Returnil's supposed 64-bit support (due to PatchGuard). Somebody please verify the 64-bit "claim" and let us know. I use Returnil (but an older version) all the time to test software.

I downloaded but since I'm doing ok with Vista64 and image backups I think I'll let an "early adopter" be the guinea pig.  ;)

If I don't see a lot of disaster outcry maybe I'll get curious enough to install.  As for the mechanism on 64 bit I think they are doing something similar to Disk Write Copy where they use the Shadow Copy service to clone your system partition when you activate the protection and hot switch to the clone.  Not the same as what Sandboxie does.  When you reboot the shadow clone is discarded.  Seems more of a disk protect, at least in the freebie version.

As a result I bet it requires quite a bit of free disk space since your system partition is still there but hidden away.

I just checked out the forum.  Looks like there's quite a few issues with 100% CPU usage, corrupted system files, uninstalls that don't complete leaving busted systems etc..

Think I'll wait for a later build that has some of these issues fixed before trying it. Maybe when it's actually 2010 Returnil 2010 will have most of this stuff ironed out.
Looks like they went right from RC1 to product with no fixes between the two.

On the forum they are saying most of the problems like 100% CPU usage are due to server side problems, not the program code.  Using the free version you may not have most of the features that are suspect... but I think I'll hang back for more feedback before putting this puppy on.

Yet another new build.  This one claims problems with restore points and other issues fixed:
