Simple Photo Correction Software
« on: July 05, 2009, 09:54 AM »
I am an avid digital photo hobbyist, somewhere around 15K photos.  I was using a program named PhotoBot that would automatically do simple corrections such as red eye correction, auto contrast, etc.  It has worked well for over 2 years, but for some reason (Win7?) it now wants to process the photos over and over again.  This of course ruins them with the multiple corrections.  It would run in the background and correct the designated folders/photos automatically without any input on my behalf.  It also lets you keep the originals or delete them after a designated time period. Does anyone know of a comparable product?  I'm not looking for professional results, just simple corrections.

Thanks,
Tony

have you tried contacting PhotoBot - that sounds like good capability, their site says for Win 2000 to Vista but presumably they will be updating it for Win7 - (maybe with your help? :-) )

Ashampoo has a somewhat similar program called Photo Optimizer  ($15).
Colour Science has its "Image Editor", which is more sophisticated regarding the image editing (http://www.colour-science.com/ , starting from $65).
Or PhotoPerfect Express  with lots of add-on options.  (http://www.arcadiaso...perfect-express.html).

RoboImport will do the job.
Will even be on sale at Bits du Jour, this Wednesday, for $15

http://www.bitsdujou...software/roboimport/
http://picajet.com/e....php?page=roboimport
RoboImport automatically launches when you connect your camera, creates separate folders to hold your images, then imports your photos into those folders, automatically renaming files and performing image editing operations to make them perfect!

RoboImport lets you:

    * Automate the process of importing, naming, and sorting your digital photos.
    * Rename files and folders with descriptive phrases for easy identification.
    * Free up space on your camera card by having RoboImport import the photos and delete them from the card.

Here's an example of a possible RoboImport workflow:

    * Connect your camera to your PC
    * Import the files
    * Delete the files from your camera flash card
    * Batch rename your imported files
    * Add your copyright information
    * Rotate images where necessary
    * Convert RAW files to DNG format
    * Correct image resolution
    * Catalogue your images and batch edit EXIF/IPTC data
    * Add a piece of the GPS information
    * Copy image backups to a CD, DVD or external hard disk
