skwire, would a refresh button be possible?

I'm having to resave some files - I then have to select all, clear the list, and add them again to confirm new 'status'.
(This a bit akward cause they are in various folders.)

Oh yeah -
the download has a second copy of the files in a sub-folder - I went for the more recently modified version (17:18)

If more people than me is scared off by the weir... ehh... different tiffinfo "thing", it is good to know that a simple right-click will make Windows give the required information. (Maybe the feature first was adopted in Win 7 (which only was available some months after tomos first asked for the feature)?, or maybe IrfanView first must be installed? I don't know. But I do have the feature in Win 7.) But for checking more than one file at a time, it is of course much more effective to use tiffinfo with skwire's brilliant GUI.

This is a great little app Skwire, thanks again

I was wondering would it be possible/not-too-difficult for it to remember the files listed on closing/reopening? Would suit my workflow better - but it would also be one of those icing on the cake things :-)

Sure, I can do add this.  I'll take care of it next week when I'm back from holiday.

Just got to it today - both working perfectly here, many thanks

hmm, twice now this morning though, I've had a problem with display when scrolling horizontally using the Ctrl+mousewheel combo. See shot - what has been scrolled disappears; also what I am scrolling towards does not show - so the visible area gets smaller all the time. Also, it jumps to ~23% CPU (i.e. most of one core).
I'm unable to reproduce it now though... will do if I find the trigger.
[edit] hasn't happened since - may have just been some weird once-off teething issues with the new version [/edit]

Dont know if the above will affect this request:
would it be possible to speed up the horizontal scrolling? I do tend to use it a fair bit because I often have files with the same name/different locations. And I like to keep the window a reasonable width (so I need to scroll to see the filepaths).

I have seen this occasionally with some of my apps as well.  Unfortunately, I'm not certain what causes it so it's very hard to debug.

would it be possible to speed up the horizontal scrolling?

Please check the changelog of the new version.  The hack doesn't work quite as smoothly as I'd like but I think you'll be able to find a balance.

v1.1.0 - 2013-12-05
+ Added Ctrl+MouseWheel hotkeys for faster horizontal scrolling.  This
is adjustable using a hidden INI setting.  Close tiffInfoGUI and add the
following entry under the [Settings] section where # is an integer
      value (default 3):

      HScrollCount=#

Horizontal scroll via Ctrl+Mousewheel is much snappier out of the box, so I'm happy.

I did try adding "HScrollCount=#" to the ini files - with numbers higher than 3 - just seemed to make it jerkier though, so I just removed it.

Thanks again Skwire !

Those were my findings as well.  Three seemed a pretty good balance so that's why it's the default.

Very minor-trivial-unimportant stuff :D

1) check for updates is broken here -
nothing happens for a while, then I get:
---------------------------
tiffInfoGUI
---------------------------
Version data could not be downloaded.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

2) just a suggestion:
in the 'About' box, instead of linking to the OP in this thread, why not link to your first posting of the software?

i wouldn't mind having a GUI for the tiffinfo program. who knows, it might come in handy one day.

Here you go:  tiffInfoGUI download
 (see attachment in previous post)

Seem to be going back to a lot of your apps this week skwire (also using Splat again)

Been using csv export a little:
Wondering if it possible to change the separator in the csv file -- it appears to be using comma: the resolution column gets exported to two columns (so the columns are out of sync with the headers.

Screenshot - 2016-10-05 , 13_31_13.jpg

in screenshot the Resolution column from the highlighted row will export as:

ResolutionPath
"600 600 pixels/inch"

As per the CSV standard, if a cell's data has a comma in it, that data will have double-quotes around it in the raw CSV file.  TIFFInfoGUI exports its data this way but, unfortunately, not all CSV readers follow the standard.  NirSoft's CSVFileView is one that does; here's a screenshot of it showing a CSV export from TIFFInfoGUI (note the resolution column):

What are you using to view the CSV file?

I was wondering about the quotes :-[
Thanks skwire -- it opens perfectly in Libre Office

I was using Softmaker's Planmaker -- I will report it to them when I get a chance (I'm otherwise very happy with their office software)
