Good tool to batch edit EXIF date/time data?

(1/2) > >>

jeromg:
Hi DCers,

I need to edit the taken date of several hundreds of pictures (my son's camera date/time settings were not set correctly). I've looked around and couldn't find a tool for that (my fav picture viewer IrfanView doesn't seem to be able to do that).
Suggestions anyone?

cranioscopical:
There's EXIF Date Changer that's free.
I've not used it myself but you could try it on a few copies of your photos and check that it performs well before plunging right in.

"batch" and "image" always brings me to imagemagick: http://imagemagick.org/script/index.php

I have used on several occasions and it always performed excellently. It's free, which I find good :)

this one http://jpgtime.learsy.com/ - the name isn't quite clear from the site
Time Stamp Modifier for JPEG Files

The program enables to set the file time stamp (i.e. date and time) from the EXIF date/time and also enables to shift the time stamp of multiple files.
...

It also enables to select multiple files in a list and shift their date/time by a time slice - by single click you can increase/decrease seconds, minutes, hours, days, months or years.-
I've just used  it to change 'modified date' to time photo was taken via Exif data - worked very nicely -  I believe it should do what you're looking for easily as well (portable, donationware)

Thanks for the suggestion. I eventually ended up writing my own command line version of it (quick'n'dirty way but works like a charm).
