Arrange "start" menu programs list alphabetically??
(1/1)
tranzor:
Not sure if this is the right forum to post this in, but does anyone know of software that will re-arrange the start menu programs list (I am on windows XP) so that it will list your installed apps alphabetically instead of when/how you istalled them? Thanks again--

Does RMB click on any menu item and "Sort items by name" not work*?
If you use classic menu then you can also: RMB on taskbar -> Properties -> "Menu Start" tab -> Customize -> Sort
*) You need to have "Personalized menus" switched off or classic menu applied AFAIK.

well in all my years of playing with the pc I never bothered to right click on the
"all programs" option. That simple wording before the list is displayed was something I never thought would have any choices associated with it.
cheers!

Here's a couple of freeware that both work pretty well. I tried them for awhile but I ended up just using folders to categorize my apps and put the folders on RocketDock.
But these do actually work and I didn't notice any obvious bugs:
