FARR plugin: FARR Windows Search 0.3.0

<< < (17/36) > >>

phitsc:
phitsc, mouser recently brought up the idea of a general-purpose chm search tool, and we came across:

http://www.citeknet.com/Products/IFilters/CHMIFilter/tabid/64/Default.aspx

Do you think that this IFilter (or something similar) combined with your Windows Search plugin might result in anything interesting?

I've installed this and let Windows Search index a directory with a chm file. It doesn't seem to work, not even using the Windows Search Deskbar.

ewemoa:
Thanks for testing it out.

Hmm, too bad it doesn't seem to work out-of-the-box :(

On a side-note, did you happen to come across either of the following?

  http://www.ifilter.org/

ecaradec:
Ok, I'll try to reproduce it.

ecaradec:
I tried to reproduce it but got the propsys.dll error on Windows XP Pro SP3. The dependency come from FARRWindowsSearch. I tried to add the propsys.dll into the plugin folder but it crash. It isn't very surprising since it is a vista dll. Did you link to propsys ? Or compile for vista which may have add dependencies to vista dll ?

I did neither. The plugin is running fine here on my Windows XP machine. I'm afraid I still have no idea where this propsys problem on some PCs is coming from.
