Saving in PNG format always shows 16M colors
« on: March 30, 2009, 09:25:39 AM »
Hi,

I have "Color Depth: 8bit ColorMap" in Settings, but
saving in PNG Advanced dialog always says "Colors: 16M".
I have to set it to 256 every time.

What am I doing wrong?

Using version: v2.53.01

Interesting  :).

By the way, I always worry about space, that's why I select 256 colors.
What do I gain/lose by using 16M colors? These PNGs are going to the
web exclusively, no printing or high-quality docs and such.
