Don't official announcements and important messages like this usually have a darker background so they stand out?

Like RSS, WordPress offers a variety of plugins that allow your blog posts to autopost to Twitter and then vice versa if you want. So it can save a lot of clicking.

And if you don't have wordpress, then just shove your RSS feed through friendfeed and let that post it to twitter for you (which is how it's being done with the DC blog ).
