tomos:
I have WinCatalog 2008 from a previous bits offer (which I've never installed :-[)
they dont have any upgrade info at their site  so I mailed them

I got a very prompt, polite, and helpful mail from them telling me that there's no upgrade price

As in, the upgrade from 2008 to 2009 is free OR you have to pay full price? I'm guessing the former, but thought I'd ask to be sure  :)

oups  :tellme:  FREE  :D

MerleOne:
are you familiar with any other catalogers that you could compare it with ?

I tried just a few from your review at https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?topic=7764.0
I used for quite some time ADC from ElcomSoft.  I stopped using it when I noticed that it had trouble scanning withing multi-part zip archives, whereas WCL does this fine.  I still miss some features from ADC such as displaying the free space on a media in the status bar.

Also, updating a media can be very long and CPU intensive with WCL, it was quick with ADC.

They're pushing an upgrade offer to WinCatalog 2013 (including to 2014 when released) for ~$15
(if you have an older version, you should get the offer per email)
It seems to be still updated regularly - http://www.wincatalog.com/news-and-articles/category/wincatalog-2013/

do people still use disk catalogers? :) I have to admit I dont, but suspect I should...
I had this briefly installed once, but then the machine died, and I didnt install in new one.
Anyone still using it?
