In dock shape I only have the option of a circle, is there an ellipitical shape

Unfortunately not that I know of at this time. Apparently there is the circle and then there is the swirl available.
Although I am certain that someone is working on a similar mod in their spare time.

I apologize, apparently the Spiral has not yet been instituted for the latest version, but apparently it is being worked on.

That is all the information I have at this time regarding the spiral.
