Auto Capture
« on: December 03, 2005, 07:48 PM »
Stumbled upon Screenshot Captor today. Appears to be a powerful program, however I have yet to figure out how to make it do what I really want.  I have a window that normally works in the background. I want to capture this specific window, on a timed interval, and save the latest capture with a specific filename. I've managed the capture (though it sometimes captures a different window), I've managed the interval, but the program always adds a three-digit number at the end instead of overwriting the previous capture. Is what I want possible, either now or in the forseeable future?

very interesting point - screenshot captor is designed to try to be smart and auto names files so they don't overwrite each other.  but in your case you specially WANT it to overwrite the pervious one.

so if i understand you, you would like an option for the timed capture that says:
  • overwrite any existing file

and maybe ill add another option
  • run this program on capture: _____________________________

does that seem right?

if so i'll add it to todo list and should have it implemented on next release this month.

Just an idea:

there are often many windows open on ones desktop
but he want to capture only one window "over and over"

so waht's about an option to capture
only windows with given title like "Defrag *%"
or "Internet Explorer *"
or by handle "12345" ?

i.e. i capture only (especially with timer on) that window i want.

Thank you both. The "overwrite any existing file" option and the option to capture a window by title should be perfect.
