isn't the idea of a warning - [swearing] here - that you give people a chance to avoid whatever you're warning them about (I had to laugh about that)

A quite similar "commercial", but for a different product and with less swearing (actually, it is a parody - I'm not from US and at first I thought it was not a real product): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h05ZQ7WHw8Y

very funny.
ps. since this forum is for all ages, perhaps it should have been marked as NSFW and could have done without the curse word in subject title?

OK - I'm getting old. While I agree with the sentiments expressed in the parody (of the Sony POS), I thought the amount of gratuitous swearing detracted from the humour.
BTW, bgd77, the Snuggie is a real product marketed here (in North America), and I've shaken my head a number of times over the idiocy of it... actually, I'm never sure which idea is more idiotic: that someone would dream it up, that someone would market it, or that someone would actually buy it!

it would have been quite comical actually if they had "beeped" out all the cursing - call it a SFW Version they do go close to the edge at times - mind you there's a lot heavier stuff than swearing there

I don't mind swearing, but when it's overdone and for no apparent reason (like in this video), it bores me. Enough that I actually found the whole video relatively boring.

My point exactly (I'm not above swearing, and it can even be humourous in the right context/done right)

Funniest thing I've seen all year, and surprisingly true, just substitute the brand name for just about anything!

Thanks for the explanation, Darwin. I wouldn't buy the Snuggie blanket either. I think that these videos show that we have some serious problems: 1. Many not very useful products have invaded the market and people buy them just to be in the trend (it's like fashion, each year we need to buy a new model of socks ). 2. Many brands that 10 or 20 years ago created good, lasting products now manufacture mediocre products. I think that in the beginning they really wanted to create high quality goods, now they only want high profits, which is not a bad thing in theory. The only problem is that we in their search for higher profits they hurt our interests. So what can we, as customers, do? (especially for point 2) Are there any brands left that offer quality first (and not arguments like: buy this product because everyone uses and you must use it too)? I hope I am not off-topic.

OMG, hilarious. I'm putting it on my PSP and iPod and showing it to everyone tomorrow at school. I burst out laughing full on (I laughed the whole time) when the blue screen came up saying "Unknown Error Please Restart." Priceless! BTW: For those of you that think this video has a lot of swearing, you would be amazed at the amount of cursing goes on at my high school. Every other word has something to do with something that no one wants their parents to hear them saying.

Me I don't mind the swearing at all, actually if you compare the video's dialog to the dialog of an average person when trying to cope with the techno-babble contained in most translated 5 time into 8 different languages electronic device's "documentation" ... I'd say the video was spot on.
I haven't laughed that hard all week.

The swearing was sometimes unnecessary, but it certainly didn't ruin the entire video.

I must now face into the corner and bow my head in shame. I fell for the Apple wheel crap. I never even looked at the url when someone sent me bit. I fell for it so hard that I trotted it out at a departmental meeting and was soundly laughed into a crimson red complexion. The crazy thing is that I was convinced that Apple was just that f***ing stupid. /sigh - you may all ridicule and jeer to your hearts content - I deserve it. Back to the doghouse for me
