Tim Cook announced Tuesday the release of Apple’s long-rumored watch, the latest in wearable technology. Here are some features of the new device:

- 13-megapixel camera enables users to take crystal-clear pictures of wrist
- Allows wearers to start and stop the flow of time
- Discreet, but not so discreet that anyone would mistake it for a regular watch
- Comes in a variety of colors and styles to express your personal submission to the planet’s dominant tech company
- Adjustable ticking volume
- All the convenience of a traditional watch that needs to be charged every 12 hours
- Built-in thinkpiece regarding the increased connectivity yet simultaneous isolation of the millennial generation
- Small size and intricate circuitry able to drive twice as many Chinese workers to suicide as iPhone
- Makes it easier for muggers to see whether or not you’re carrying an expensive electronic device
- Another screen to throw into your current rotation of things you look at

But apart from that... it's 'awesome'

Haha! :)

Is that an iPhone in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?

Having been the happy owner of a refurbished SONY Cyber-shot (camera) and a refurbished  Handycan (video recorder) for a few years now, SONY tempted me into registering the products online to obtain "special offers", and they also encouraged me to set up an account on SONY PlayMemories Online for unlimited free photo storage, or something.
Well, though the "special offers" didn't seem so hot (they wanted to give me a SONY-branded VISA or Mastercard credit card), PlayMemories Online looked like it might be worth a look, so I set up the photo account and logged in...

You have to wonder...

Sorry, but it doesn't look as clever saying a brand new phone is better than a year old phone (iPhone 6 vs. Nexus 5) as it does saying a two year old phone is better than a brand new phone (Nexus 4 vs iPhone 6).

It just looks smug and dishonest. But that's Apple/iPhone fans for you. :P

This one made me laugh despite myself:

Some were better than others, but a funny idea nonetheless. (c:

In my humble opinion, neither looks particularly clever.  But then again, I just use what works- it's just a tool to me.

The Rev. Ian Paisley has just died. This person's name might not carry much significance to you if you are unfamiliar with the UK's history of the period when IRA terrorists were travelling around Ireland and England killing and maiming people by the use of guns and explosives - including knee-cappings, executions and nail-bombs exploded in public places where there were likely to be lots of innocent bystanders about (men, women, and children), for maximum collateral damage effect.
These were all things that the good Rev. Ian Paisley - together with a great many other British people who remembered WW2 and valued life, liberty and democracy and who had learned never to negotiate with or give in to terrorists or other fascists - took a rather dim view of.

Extremely dry comment from Biased BBC:
Ian Paisley 1926-2014
  By Alan | September 12, 2014

Former DUP leader Ian Paisley has died aged 88.
Listening to 5Live [a BBC radio broadcast channel], Dominic Laurie I think, the most pressing issue was to ask, and keep asking, if the ‘intransigent’ Ian Paisley prevented the peace process from being successfully implemented much earlier….was it his fault the conflict kept going? Might of course have had something to do with the IRA….I don’t know, but it’s possible. ...

The gameshow winning supercomputer that couldn’t stop saying ‘bull****’: IBM forced to wipe hard drive after machine downloaded an urban dictionary
Artificial intelligence machine Watson began swearing after memorising the contents of the Urban Dictionary
It was fed the repository of colloquial English in a bid to equip it with the knowledge to pass the Turing test of computer intelligence
But researchers were forced to wipe the dictionary from the machine's memory after it started giving backchat to researchers

OK, here's another link. Such things are very popular on the 'net. If that article isn't your cup of tea, search with Google for "Watson urban dictionary".
