Everything you never wanted to know about poultry so didn't bother to ask.

Chicken chicken chicken

Also there is a recording of a presentation of the paper on YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yL_-1d9OSdk.

I don't get it. It was slightly amusing for the first second or two (after the presentation started), but... What's the point?

I didn't want to say anything, I thought maybe I was missing something obvious.
I really don't get it. Maybe the laughter was just contagious?

I guess the humour for me is that I've sat through loads of proper talks and in every way except the actual content that was a perfect imitation. The paper too, except the words, is formatted exactly like the familiar published research.  So for me it's funny to see such lunacy presented in a format you'd never expect to be anything but serious. Perhaps without that context it's just bland.

This little gem is more dry than silly, and will probably only get a chuckle from the Linux geeks, but here goes anyway:

Quote
Announcing A New Linux Distro: BaitNSwitch Linux

Today, I'm announcing my new Linux company, HookLineNSinker, Inc. (HLNS) which will produce a new commercial Linux distribution: Pricey Linux. HLNS products include Pricey Linux Enterprise, Pricey Linux Small Business Server and The Pricey Linux Desktop. There are also Pricey Linux Support options for those of you who need 24x7 support for your Pricey Systems. And to comply with Linux licensing, we'll also offer a free, community edition of our Pricey Linux known as BaitNSwitch Linux.

Hmm...this post almost made me think SUSE might have changed its name.  Wink Grin

From a post on AmazingSuperPowers.com, the best of spam.

A modest fetid pile of spammy comments tends to build up at ASP. Here are some of my favorites and first impressions.

“Check out the new Mexican Swine Flu Ringtone”
Does it come with SARS wallpaper?

“Good article, Thanks. Thanks.”
We changed this person’s life with a post about dinosaurs.

“I want to find good pop music. Help me please.”
Are you on an abstract scavenger hunt?

“Amoxicillin….Amoxicillin. Amoxicillin 500 mg facts. Canine dosage for amoxicillin for sinus infection. How quickly does amoxicillin work. Amoxicillin order mexico mexican. Can i drink beer if i m taking amoxicillin?!”
My best guess is that this was written by an alcoholic Wolfman with sinusitis.

“Is the museum open on Sunday?”
…sure. But they might close an hour earlier.

“Good afternoon! Escort Model information there. Fish-girl men. I am pleased to welcome you to its website, prostitutes and Fish. You can visit my blog.”
You, sir, are a pioneer.

“Good article, Thanks. my name Philip.”
My name Phillip. I bring porn links.

“Prozac…prozac…”
These are the mumblings of depressed zombies.

I LOVE that site! Nudone did a fantastic job with the art. It has a lot of personality. I wish you'd put some more stuff up there, though. I have been waiting since forever.  Kiss

Oh, and your site is currently not working.  Sad

Thanks! I do plan on getting back to it at some point, but I've just got too much on my plate at the moment. Nudone is also extremely busy as well.

It's working again. I was doing some upgrades, and had to roll back. (Grrrrr...) It's a very rare occurrence, but it happens. Usually my upgrade downtime is around 5 seconds up to about 30. Today was ridiculous. (Gory tech details omitted, as well as gorier lazy planning details. tongue )
