The tool tips are very helpful.
I see now that my previous interpretation had been incorrect,
viz., reading from left to right, Symbolic.pngleave the house to visit the washroom on the first of the month, due to being a lame duck.

I am starting to agree with the guy that reported a few of your posts to the moderators for being too funny.  ;D

There aren't any of these up yet because i need some help building them.  What i need for each such badge is:
  • 16x16 tiny gif image
  • 64x64 bigger image (jpg or gif)
  • url for more info
  • one word label, one line title, and then a longer description

There is quite a few people that deserve to have this one, but one in particular should get it first, since he inspired me to create it.

16x16: clown16.jpg
64x64: clown64.jpg
url: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clown
one word label: clown
one line title: official forum clown

longer description: Life is a circus and we are standing in their ring. Given in honor of their intelligent wit, side splitting humor, and acts of insane hilarity. Being this funny should be a crime, and we'd probably have them arrested if we weren't laughing so hard.

Special large size:

clown400.png

I created this as a PSP7 vector, should there ever come an occasion where it needs to be made much, much larger. (think t-shirts, mugs, posters, 5000 ft billboards)

Hamradio has resized the images from this wiki page to make badge icons for some US military branches.

These are the first user-selectable badges, which means that if you are in one of the US military branches, you can indicate this by:
  • Going to your forum profile
  • Clicking on Forum Profile Information on left
  • Then typing the name of the relevant badge in the Self-given Badges list.

let me know if it works for you.

Don't know about the others, but I tried to add the USAF one and could not get it to work.  I may be doing something wrong though?

Hello Mouser

You and wreckedcarzz have been strangers to the Circledock forum as of late, but with everything else going on here, I guess you drop in where you can.

Anyways, I have a suggestion for a badge here, and I apologize if I am way out of line suggesting one.

I am by no means a programmer of the caliber that is listed in these forums, but I and apparently several others, dedicate numerous hours and support by offering software/forum support.
Software support, graphics, and presentations is my bread and butter.
Of late I realize that there a lot of forum goers that do not have the programming skills, but have offered great software support to various software that is offered here at Donationcoder.

I guess: to the point right?

I would like to see a couple of badges or just one that reflects the above.

A badge for forum and/or software supporter!

This badge would not be a self selected badge, but a badge given out by yourself, or what ever controls you have in place.

I think this would be great for those supporters that are doing what they can to support these software/forums, but who can not support by coding or software development.

This badge could also be handed out to developers as well, but would reflect their contributions to software/forum support.
This would allow the folks who are supporting the forums/software in a dedicated and helpful manner know they are doing well, based on others opinions.

I would start by electing wreckedcarzz, as I have found this persons help and assistance to be of great help and sometimes insight.

Let me know what you think

i think this is a great idea.. actually i was talking to someone else about the possibility of having badges for different programming languages that would indicate someone was willing to help others with that programming problems related to that language.

so this idea of yours would be a useful complement to that idea -- badges showing someone has provided (or is willing to provide) general help or help on certain programs or kinds of programs.

+1. But one question is language sub-forum here is not very active.

sgtevmckay, your idea is cool.
I think all those who have programs here (or on DCmembers site can create FAQ based on problems posted here and post solutions to that pafe as well. FAQ/Knowledgebase pages works well with forum support )

mouser announced this award in another thread today, and I am just supplying the graphics to make it possible.

16x16: sandwich16.gif

64x64: sandwich64.png

url: https://www.donation....msg170591#msg170591

one word label: sandwich

one line title: rotten turkey sandwich

description:

This is an award for catching and reporting mouser's mistakes.

i always try to put one mistake in each post i make to see who is pedantic enough to catch it and report it.
prize is a rotten turkey sandwich.
-mouser

Now, let's not all jump on this at once, since there are a ton of people that should have this one displayed on their profile. I don't want mouser to have to take the next 6 weeks off to add everyone.  :P

Is this now to be the definition of a mouser month?

I've added the Rotten Turkey badge, but I reserve the right to award it to any rotters on the forum, regardless of their particular crimes.

 ;D I love this idea!

I have two suggestions:
url: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portugal
one word label: Portugal
one line title: Inhabitant of Portugal
longer description: This is a badge for the inhabitants of that small country on the western end of Europe, Portugal.
Portugal's flag: http://upload.wikime...Flag_of_Portugal.svg
I found this smaller version, but it's 16x11, so I suppose it's not valid, right? http://upload.wikime...13/Icons-flag-pt.png

url: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/linux
one word label: linux
one line title: Linux user
longer description: -- Don't know what to write here, suggestions are welcome --
http://upload.wikime...mons/b/b0/NewTux.svg

I haven't resized the images because I'd like to hear some opinions first.
I'm starting to think that if people start suggesting so many (idiotic) badges as I did, we will quickly end up with loads of badges over our forum avatar :)

I just noticed that the cody badge image is really small, don't you have a larger one for 64x64, mouser?

regarding xgood point, i need to add one -- i should have one somewhere.

as far as the linux -- will add and make it user chooseable; just need the icons.

country flags are nice idea -- the 16x11 will work fine.

Ok, I've resized the images.

Portugal small: http://upload.wikime...13/Icons-flag-pt.png
Portugal large: Flag_of_Portugal.png

Linux small: NewTux_16x16.png
Linux large: NewTux_64x64.png

Linux small looks like crap :)
And I think I inadvertently cut part of the large version's head  :-[

Maybe just a small formal T as in "Tux" for Linux?

I'll guess any Windows user that (finally) makes the leap to Linux needs a lobotomy (to get rid of all the trash MS has put in there over the years)...

Tux even wants to identify himself (or herself) with those users :P

Just joking, I like both OS's.

I'd love to see someone do a workable 16X16 badge. I've done dozens of badges for Linux, but I've never been able to get one I liked below 64X64.

This one Tux64.gif falls apart at 16 Tux16.gif
