7. Wired Marker - I only use it to Right-Click and highlight words with one of my saved colours. It's great because it's permanent. Nice one! I've for a long time wanted something exactly like that but for pdf files not html. |

No extension recommendations at the moment because I am redoing my Firefox setup, but working on this project this morning reminded me of two tips that every Firefox user should keep in mind.
1. Do a fresh, clean re-install of Firefox every once in a while or at least start fresh with a new profile. Over time extensions leave obsolete files and settings behind and uninstalling extensions doesn't always remove everything that was added when they were installed.
2. Every so often set aside some time to go look at the homepages of the extensions you are using. Some extensions don't have auto-update routines set up properly so new versions may get released and you'll never be notified. I found three extensions this morning that had new versions that the Addons dialog's "Find Updates" function never knew existed.

Oh man, what lanux said! Session Manager integrates perfectly with Tab Mix Plus. It's a perfect solution to the limitation I was running into with Tab Mix Plus only keeping track of the last two sessions.
In other news, I'm running Firefox 3.5 b99 and it's very snappy. It's working great with the 27 extensions I have installed thus far.

1. It might be a overkill, but I just found a extension that mimic vim's behavior in firefox. While it seems intimidating at first glance,it's actually quite good at saving screen estate and minimizing hand movement. Only for the hardcore fans tho http://vimperator.mozdev.org/It is quite well documented (commands are mainly in the "various" category of the documentation) and there is a wiki too http://vimperator.cutup.o...x.php?title=Configuration2. Another one I like is the secure login extension. The default password manager shipped with firefox always leave me unsatisfied. It feels somewhat awkward and insecure. The secure login extension prevents prefilling the form and can also temporally disable javascript to prevent cross-site scripting. Best of its feature, imho, is that it is much easier and snappy to use. It automatically highlight the form. You press Alt-N and it not only automatically fills it but also presses enter for you. If you have two accounts, it offers a box to select one and off you go. Very Handy! https://addons.mozilla.or.../en-US/firefox/addon/4429Big stars for Vimperator too. It is probably the most beautiful FF addon. Amazing stuff |

I've for a long time wanted something exactly like that but for pdf files not html. Well, there are many. Acrobat is the expensive, but best solution. Check also adobe digital editions, Foxit, and Pdf Xchange viewer. The last one has so-so rendering quality on some systems (good on my laptop, bad on a big monitor), and printing is not its strong point, but other than that, is highly useful because it's cheap and offers mostly all features of Acrobat (but OCR). The two adobe ones have best rendering quality + highlighting. The reader doesn't do highlighting. |

Went hunting this afternoon for a better alternative for Modify Headers (something per-domain so that I can leave it enabled when browsing pages other than my target) but didn't find anything. I did, however, find a spiffier alternative to Live HTTP Headers, HttpFox. It supports HTTPS and shows more than just the headers in a much tidier layout Ehtyar. |

NoSquint (mentioned previously) is an excellent addition for anyone running a resolution higher than 800x600. I usually take the full zoom as far as it'll go and then adjust the text size, if still required. Note: The beta version available on their homepage has some more useful features (set text + bg color per site, etc.)

I keep forgetting that this isn't default behavior on Windows  The fact that you need an extension for such a thing is really silly... |
