DC-IRLDD = DonationCoder In Real Life Dinner + Drinks
My normal custom is to spend holidays programming, but this new year's it looks as if i'm going to get a visit from dc members Gothi[c] (our intrepid server admin and expert coder), and his wife Della.
And I wanted to warmly welcome any other DC member within driving range to come join us.
It will be a low-key non-eventful event, and i'm not generally very social, so i wouldn't cancel the party you were going to go to where you might have a chance of talking to that girl/guy you have a crush on, but if you are living a geeky solitary life, why not come have dinner with us? There is plenty of room to camp out in my house for the night.
When: December 31st - January 1st. Where: My house in Champaign, IL.
Send me a message if you intend to come and i'll send you details.

I wonder: are there any other DC users from Berlin, Germany? I know hadez will be in Berlin on December 31st (and before that and after that too), so we could make a small "DC German Faction" gettogether. I know just the place to meet: c-base. OK You Germans and Berliners: speak up and lets have a blast! Edit: spelling and dates, and I even went over it twice before I originally submitted it

I would attend, if I could - maybe sometime soon (within the next year or so?) when I have cash (and lack of annoying constant parental supervision ) to get to the next major get-together (AZ -> IL = $$).

Doh. I could be there just about any other time, since my family is originally from thereish (Kankakee, Morris, Seneca, etc.); but I work this New Years. Oh well - somebody must keep the mainframe running...

Mouser,
I am not out here much (made a couple posts here and there) but I keep a very close eye on the newsletters and it is wonderful to know you are nearby mouser! I hail in Peoria (just 30 minutes by the way the crow flies) and one of my employers branches I visit frequently is right in your neck of the woods. Wow if only you had mentioned this in Novembers newsletter I would have booked it for sure... Hope you do it again next year... if so I would love to learn and share with a lovely yule tide beverage and some New Years munchies. Best to you and yours!

Mouser, et al. Very kind invitations, but I'm here in Los Angeles. So far, I'm planning to spend the day at the beach. While it might be raining, I'm from Santa Monica, CA, so rain is kind of a novelty. Best wishes to you all. OEF

That's just plain cruel! Where I am, we just had yet another foot of snow. I don't need a snow thrower, I need a tunneling machine. Merry Christmas!

Wreckedcarzz sits back in his chair and admires the "cold" weather outside - its 59 degrees (F) outside! I might even have to put some jeans on! These shorts and t-shirt should do, though. Merry Christmas to all as well

If it's any comfort, we're getting a blast of cold air today. Might get below freezing tonight. In L.A., when the temperature fall below 50F, everyone starts wearing parkas and fleece. Gloves, mufflers, and woolly hats, too. We're just not built for cold, I'm afraid. I love the sun, and even go out when it's cold to soak up what I can. OEF

Thanks for sharing.
Looks like you had a good time playing Heroscape (never heard of it before. Is it a Risk-like strategy game?) and you did not do the mouser, did you?

Speaking of Cody, When he had to draw a picture of Cody, this is what mouser came up with: Now mind you, he looks at the little bird every day on his forum, yet he thinks Cody has cat ears and a long nose
