april: Marvelous selections.

I was especially impressed by Godspeed You Black Emperor. GYBE was a new group for me, and that's something that doesn't happen all too often.

With taste like yours, please feel free to take me off the beaten path anytime you like.

There is now a part 2 video, created by the same fan that made the first one, so now you get to hear the 2nd half of that particular track.

GYBE was my introduction to the genre of post-rock, which has since become my favorite genre of music. If you like what you are hearing, want more, and have a facebook account, it might be worth it for you to subscribe to this fan page, which will introduce you to plenty more artists you may never have heard of, all within the post-rock genre. (they also have a huge list on the left sidebar if you just want a list of artists worth exploring on your own)

Or if you have a last.fm account, you could just listen to the sound soup tag station I started, which also has quite a few free downloadable tracks available on the right side of the page. I don't plan on limiting it to post-rock though...there will be additions of symphonic metal and other stuff that I deem worthy. And there is a chance the whole thing could be spoiled by other people using the same tag for their stuff, so I plan on sticking to listening to my tag and not the community tag I linked to (unfortunately, I don't think you can listen to my personal tag station without a paid account)
