DONE: IE Proxy Switcher
« on: November 21, 2005, 09:03 PM »
A task tray program which turns on/off the IE proxy server/firewall checkbox:
Tools | Options | Connections | LAN Settings | Use Proxy Server

For those who use their laptop at work behind firewall and one their home LAN. Surely this setting is stored in the registry somewhere, right?

I think IP Profiler will do the job.

A different browser could also help. Slimbrowser (an IE frontend) has a feature to organize/change proxies. I guess other browsers offer the same.

proxy switcher at http://www.proxyswitcher.com/ comes in a freeware version which does that.
It would be nice though to have ONE solution for changing the proxy AND at the same time changing the smtp server
so you could make a quick transition from home to work
