ARGH!!!! How To Save View In Open/Save Dialog???
« on: November 11, 2005, 01:52 AM »
Is there a small fix that allows you to choose the view in the open/save dialog and keep it that way?

I have having to switch to thumbs everytime in some programs that don't support drag and drop.

For example, I was playing with a screensaver making program and everytime I want to select another image I have to open that dreaded open/save dialog and switch to thumbview.

Anyway, I got tired of doing that and forgot about it.

Is there a way to do this or a way to patch it?

Thanks!
I`m a firm believer in the philosophy of a ruling class, especially since I rule.

Yes, i like this too.

Save the kind of view and the order in the open/save dialog.
ALso in iExplore i mostly want to save as HTML-file only, and must always select this  :(
(and NO, i want not to use an other browser ('cus of company issues)  ;D)

i keep meaning to do a short review of file open/save dialog extenders - search the forum for the discussion threads on them - many of us could not live without them.

I use Viewtify from Cognitive Software. Tiny (~400K) memory footprint and it allows different views per application although you have to live with editing an .ini file to customize it. No webpage but here's a link to the zip: http://www.cognitive-software.com/Downloads/Viewtify.zip

I don''t know if it modifies the save box... I think it does, but there is multienhancer.  Run it once, it patches a dll and you're set.  No running in the background.  It doesn't offer much customizing but I like the effects.

http://www.netcult.c...mue/ElmueSoft-en.htm  scroll down to find MultiEnhancer

I know this is a REALLY old thread but, no doubt some people will be led here on their search and I thought I would post the name of the utility I use, which really does exactly this and more useful stuff too. Free of course.
FileBox eXtender and it is available from : http://www.hyperionics.com/files/index.asp
