nPres3D - 3D Presentation Software!
« on: August 26, 2008, 11:37 PM »
Hi!, I just made a program to show presentations using 3D models, I got bored of Office transitions so I decided to do my own presentation software.

It has just a few 3D Effects but those can be extended easily and will be improved with new features, it's very easy to use and you can control it using your cell phone installing a java app I made.

I hope you find it useful and fun.

You can get it here:
http://www.lacksoft.com/software/npres3d

Some features:
Features:
¬Many 3D Models to attach your images to.
¬Works in fullscreen and window mode.
¬Supports bluetooth adapters, so you can controll the presentation from your cell phone.
¬Java Remote controll software.
¬English and Spanish languaje support.
and many more!

This is Donationware, so please help me keep on developing!

Thank you!

Looks really interesting! Great timing too- I have a school presentation due next week, so I'll give this a go and see what it can do! :)

Seems to work pretty well. Nice, very nice.

The interface is simple and efficient

2 questions :

- As it is now, my first CPU core is at 100% all the time (so 50% total). (laptop, Intel core duo, 1.8ghz). Is that normal ? (If yes, would it be possible to have the CPU consumption drop to 0 when the animations stops /between animations?)

- How do you switch between mesa and openGL ?

Thanks!

Thanks all for your comments  :D

That's exactly how this project started, I wanted to give a good impression when presenting my thesis defense, for my Master's degree. I didn't want to use Microsoft Office nor Open Office for it. It worked flawlessly, even being a very early version. I hope you find it useful.

Yes the cpu usage gets a little high while the presentation is being shown, had some problems with the frame rate (dropped frames) when using less, but I will try to fix it soon. The cpu usage wasn't a problem on my laptop though (1.7 Celeron (Conroe), Ubuntu). Using Mesa3D will make the cpu usage go up, if you want to use it run the installer again and select it from the options, you can't remove it with out removing the whole application though, what you can do to avoid that, and remove Mesa3D, is going to the installation folder (default: c:\Program Files\nPres3D\) and delete these files: OPENGL32.DLL and GLU32.DLL.

I Hope you find this helpful.

And thanks again for your comments :D.

I appreciate any input, and if you find a error or have any ideas for improvement please let me know =).

OK! thanks. I'll just try reinstalling without Mesa3D and see what happens.
