I did not know this,try creating a text file named con.txt

I seen this over on digg.Pretty hokey i know but it's true,windows will not allow you to create a text file name
con.txt :o

Did you know that you can Open con.txt in any folder ?

Try this Open NotePad, File > Open, go to any folder on your hard disc and type con.txt in the filename field, click open ...

Yes .. it's because con refers to a device .. you'll probably have similar problems with nul, aux and prn.

Why the operating system doesn't handle device names with an extension differently, I do not know.
