Windows XP and programs do not save settings on exit

<< < (2/2)

Cynic:
In regedit, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer and change NoSaveSettings to 00 00 00 00, then reboot.

It worked for me when explorer was not remembering its settings, though I didn't experience any similar problems with Opera or other programs.

NoSaveSettings was already set to 0 . I am thinking of another solution, to create a script or batch file that I can run at startup that will perform these operations for me everytime. I'm not too good with writing batch files, does anyone recommend a good site that has tutorials?
