New Software Release (11/01/05) - Piper

At long last, Piper, Jibz's plugin for TheBat! Email client is now available:

This is a tool only for advanced users of TheBat!.  From the information on that page:

"Piper is a simple plug-in for The Bat! e-mail client. It provides a macro which can be used to execute an external program, capture the output, and insert it back into The Bat!"

I'll soon be posting a demo movie showing how useful Piper can be in using tools like our own program, TheFormLetterMachine.

Allow me to express some personal thoughts.

I met Jibz over 2 years ago on irc, talking about c++ and compression.  We ended up collaborating on a fun open source project called Octane (Open Compression Toolkit: http://octane.sourceforge.net/).  Everyone who knows jibz seems to regard him with a kind of reverance.  He's one of the most soft spoken, professional people you'll meet, with an endearing perfectionist streak.

He's also one of the most generous programmer's I know, and his help in getting DonationCoder.com off the ground has been invaluable.  I'm not sure this site would have ever started if not for his encouragement and support.
