feature request : shift+enter=internal html viewer
« on: June 09, 2008, 10:23 PM »
I think this would be very handy if it is implemented. For example I would type "search launchers", which would normally take me to firefox-google. How about if I press shift enter instead of enter and that would open the result window in farr`s internal viewer instead of firefox/ie/safari?

that would be one possibility.
another would be a list of url patterns/domains that should always open internally, and those that should open externally, and have farr open all urls according to these rules, no matter what alias launches them.

That is a really good idea as well. Some kind of alias stuff for urls, neat.

for these 'internal searches', it would be nice if it was possible to parse through the search results and display only the returned items.

lanux i think you are basically just saying that you want a plugin to load and parse results and decide what to show, which was really the main intent of this new feature, rather than acting like a normal browser.

I think both the alt+enter suggestion and the lists suggestion are good. Can they coexist? If the list suggestion is implemented it would then be good if FARR could graphically mark all items that, when run, will use the internal browser. For example, they could get a special (light) background color.
