Inability to enter license and proceed to download
« on: April 23, 2008, 10:55 PM »
:'(  License obtained easily enough, but instructions to follow left me somewhere out in cyber space.

Again, easily enough to find/enter ScreenShot, and to read all about it.
But that's not the "about" I am supposed to find and which leads to pasting license key, and thence to download.

Will appreciate exact path so I can try again.  Thank you.

Maybe this entry of our help desk will help:
https://www.donation...er.com/Help/entry/1/

It sounds like you aren't sure just where to put the license key, if so:
  • Start screenshot captor.
  • If its in the tray, right-click the blue monitor icon and choose the "About (Enter License Key)" menu item at bottom.  Or you can bring up the main window and choose this menu item from the Help menu.
  • Then click the button on the left to Enter New License Key info.
  • Paste your license key in and click Accept button.
  • All done.

 Thank you for your prompt reply.

My inexperience is showing: How can I do Step 1, Start ScreenShor Captor, without it being downloaded -- the object of my message?    Cordially,  RO

Oh! You couldnt find the download?

Here is the homepage for Screenshot Captor:
https://www.donation...hotcaptor/index.html

You'll find the download link in the upper left under "Latest Release"

:-[ OK; no idea why I couldn't have done that without bothering you.
FYI, I intend to download to my laptop rather than this desktop, but do not anticipate any difficulties.

Again, thank you.  Cordially,  RO

in all fairness, i don't think you are the only one with this problem -- the download link is sort of "hidden in plain sight" and many people expect it somewhere in the main panel.
