Don't forget this poll suffers from all of the problems associated with "self-selection".

couple of comments -
not wanting to be nitpicking but I think there may be confusion about what happiness is/means

if you're going around glowing with "happiness" all the time - I dunno :-\ , I dont think I'd even envy you! (does it exist like that?)
Rethink: a nice quiet steady "happy" glow would be nice alright!

Look at a "happy" cat :)
It cant tell us exactly what's going on for it (well not in words anyways!), but looking at it, one would suspect it's more of a contentment thing -
throw in a good dash of awareness of what's going on around it - in fact it probably doesnt even think of itself as particularly separate from all that other stuff going on...
Let's see, add in total involvement with what it's doing (focus, awareness again) and with what it's feeling.
Which is often probably nothing :) no, probably never really nothing, but nothing major at least.
Just being there

That's where I often wonder as well - one persons "emotion" is anothers "feeling", for some there's a big difference between the two, for others none...
Also I'm wary when terms like the pursuit of happiness are used - I wonder what exactly is meant..

Actually, quite a few people think happiness and a feeling of inner peace would be boring, they think that they need drama and suffering to keep life interesting.

Having experienced both, I can say that's a wrong assumption of people who only really experienced the latter.
