Finally a Quality 3D Box Shot Maker On Sale !

(1/3) > >>

tinjaw:
I have been on a quest for, oh, I don't know, two years maybe, for a quality 3D box shot maker that doesn't cost and arm and a leg. This is the first time I have seen a sale on any of the ones that look good. Thanks to Iconico Daily Deals.

I have downloaded the trial version this morning (90 day trial!) and am going to play around with it to see if it meets my needs. I have also signed up to get an email reminder from Iconico the day it is on sale.

There is a pretty good overview of box shot makers that rates Inosoft Cover Commander highly. The only knock it gets is the price, which is not a factor on the day of the sale. (Yes, I know the review site sell software and gets commission, but he sells the ones that do look to be the best and you get one place to see them side by side. The author also does custom box shots, so I assume they did the review while choosing the one use themself.)

Even $30 seems a lot for an application with such a simple purpose :/ . OK, this particular app does seem to have a bunch of options, but still. I also never quite grokked why people make these box shots when they only offer software for download, without any physical box product...

And this is because you are just another code weenie that has never had a single conversation with a marketing person. :P And I say that with all due respect. (I wouldn't want to insult you by even implying that you are now, or ever have been, a marketing droid.)

In all seriousness, one of the most eye opening experiences I had was working for the V.P. of Marketing for a software company that made some very complex, tough to do well, enterprise software. I kid you not, I gave a one hour presentation that was supposed to show off our technology. It was supposed to demonstrate that we had more than just vaporware and PowerPoint slides. All they kept talking about during the coffee break afterwards were the cool blue balls moving around the status window. I could have done that with PowerPoint. So much for technology.

f0dder, you are in a small group that doesn't care about a pretty box. Most people do, to some degree. It is all about professional first appearances to the person cutting the check.
