JayIsGames.com: Casual Gameplay Design Competition #5
« on: March 17, 2008, 09:54 AM »
This game design competition is one of the very best flash game competitions on the web. This year's theme is "upgrade". Check it out!

  • All entries are available to play immediately.
  • Each entry is represented by an icon on the left.
  • Clicking an icon will reveal more information about the game. Click the "Play" button that appears to play it.
  • A section for comments will also appear, so please provide your wonderful feedback and constructive criticism to the game designers as the JIG community is known for.
  • The competition period will span 3 weeks and all of your plays of each game will be counted toward the $1,000 Viral Prize, awarded to the game with the most plays at the end of the competition period.

Tried a few of them out and my favorite was Orbash. Was just straightforward in gameplay and felt polished troughout.
Enjoyed both the graphics and the update function. Could easily find this addictive in terms of trying to reach a higher score.
And even more of it gets more work and somehow ends up in a even more evolved form I am sure to be a big fan :D

The "desert obelisk" on is hypnotic and charming. it's a "grow" genre game.

If you like the Knytt games, check out "Pieces" which has a lot of fun personality and a female protagonist.  i especially like how she discovers new abilitities.

Something's wrong... I had to push every button to figure out how to jump. The text isn't showing up properly.

I beat it on easiest with a score of only 9,203. I only had about 50 lives left (which means I died almost 50 times).
