What Are Your Favorite Science Blogs?
mouser:
What are your favorite science blogs (can be general science or on a particular area)?
Here are a few of my favorites:
* Machines Like Us - http://www.machineslikeus.com/cms/ - nice site on recent general audience brain/ai general audience news
* Machine Learning Theory - http://hunch.net/ - this is for the hardcore machine learning people only
* The Frontal Cortex - http://scienceblogs.com/cortex/ - nice blog on brain research - mostly for researchers but general audience suitable too
zridling:
Great find, mouser! My go-to science site is Science Daily. Another similar meta-news science site is ScienceBlogs. Lots of blogs are devoted to bad science or bad math, like Bad Science.net Others I like are:
Pharyngula
Panda's Thumb
allen:
I follow space.com. And recently have been following newspond, which scrubs many daily science resources.
housetier:
These are from my rather large list of feeds, I consider them partially scientific:
* astronews, German astronomical information and news
* PLoS Blog, Public Library of Science
* damn interesting, well just damn interesting stories and facts
I am still looking for a (German) site about quantum mechanics, very much like Astronews but on "the other side of normal".
I think Damn Interesting was recommended by someone from this very forum :) And PLoS I support because I believe knowledge needs to be spread and made available as much as possible: only educated people can make just decisions.
mnemonic:
This one's a podcast, rather than a blog, but it's interesting stuff and very informative.
