Form input code
« on: March 07, 2008, 03:15 PM »
I need code that permits a viewer to type in an assigned alphanumeric code, click a submit button and go to a URL of their photos.  There will be one of nine possible codes assigned to him/her.  It is an HTML form.
Sure would appreciate a reply.  Thanks.  dessa

Do you have an existing webpage where you want this functionality.  My quick thoughts are to have the form post to a PHP processing page that does nothing but take the input from the HTML form and provide a redirect.

What I am confused about is why someone would use a form to get to the pictures if a direct URL can just be issued to them.  Is this supposed to be secure - meaning one user can't see another users pictures?

Veign, the site can be viewed at viewed at http://www.arthursphoto.com/signin.html
Copying the address or clicking on a spot on the collage is how we handle it now.  We want a professional looking site and copying doesn't give us that.  Also, the clients want to view their pictures privately.

I don't believe our server handles PHP.  There is a CGI folder on the site.  We are using this inexpensive site because of need.

A friend told me about you folks.  Hope you can help me out.

First, calling me Veign is perfectly fine as many people know me as Veign.

Second, I'm still a bit confused on what you are trying to do.

Third, your server is saying its a Squeegit/1.2.5 server (as seen through Page Headers) which I have never heard of.  Based on that I'm really not sure what your options are.

You server may be Angelfire - you may want to contact them or check with them to see what they support for your hosting account.

Wow.  That is the coolest thing.  I must say I haven't met too many 80 year olds that are programming a website.
