Typing Assistant - Free at GAOTD

tinjaw:
So far my experience with Typing Assistant has been pleasing.

I did not like the fact that it defaulted to activating for *every* window. For example, it was active while typing in passwords!! I reversed the default to only activated for the applications I select. So far I have selected programs like notepad and email.

It adds every word you type to your personal word list. So the first time I typed "Chaim" it wasn't a choice, but it was the second time. I think this autoadd functionality might be what pushes me into the auto-typing camp. I am sure other applications have this feature, but it has never registered with me if it has been mentioned. If other auto-typing applications have this feature it may be worth mentioning, if it hasn't been mentioned yet, as this is what is convincing me that this type of application may be more useful than I first thought.

PhraseExpress and Typing Assistant can co-exist and complement each other well.

So, from your comment about LetMeType, PhraseExpress is a text expander, while Typing Assistant is a text completer?

Are you using the free-for-personal-use version of PhraseExpress?  I have a dim memory of someone saying that it started to nag you after a while.
