posters who drag a thread off topic (and those who go with them, and with them, and with them...)

OK - guilty on both counts

A particular case of the above:  People who don't clean the snow off their cars and then drive while peering through a tiny cleared area on their windshield, trailing clouds of snow and dangerous flying chunks behind them. Angry

I've remembered a few others (this list relates to driving):

  • People talking on cell/mobile/hand phones while driving  Angry
  • Not indicating before making a turn
  • Tailgating
  • Speeding in park and school zones
  • Impatient drivers
  • Ah! Here's one that REALLY gets me: driving the speed limit in a passing lane and refusing to move to the right (or the left depending on where you are) while traffic piles up behind them
  • SUV's that never go off road and spend their lives tooling around town, spewing emissions and consuming gas
  • Driving through controlled intersections without stopping (I mention this because it seems to be increasingly a driving style rather than simply a mistake, which is dangerous and annoying in its own right but understandable).

The new (in the last 30 years) packaging on boxes of Smarties. They're impossible to open without ripping the box and no longer provide hours of fun from blowing into the open end to make a wonderful kazoo noise from the other  thumb down

Drivers that think they are the best in the world, and everyone should just drive like themselves.
Drivers who are inconvenienced by other drivers abiding to actual traffic laws.

Yes (I think) - second line much more succinctly stated than my rant above - but that is what I was trying to say... Is the first line directed at me?

EDIT: re-written.

I once had a young woman pass me on the right (on the soft shoulder) in a park zone while flipping me the bird. I was actually going faster than the posted 30 km/h and there were people using the park! I still get riled over that one and it happened at least 10 months ago... OK rant over  embarassed

Sounds like you were visiting New Jersey.  tongue

Basically, just post what annoys you more than anything in the world.
Nothing anymore. Yes, life IS good.  smiley

PS: I had a car crash, my PC died and I lost a substancial amount of money in 2008 so far.

PPS: US private banks surveyed clients with a net worth of $38,000,000 and more - and 65% said they felt "financially insecure"... so to me, working on enjoying life more is the key, learning how not to be annoyed by 'stuff' around you. To not annoy others Cool let's keep the discussion on topic, but feel free to PM me if you like.

This annoys me to no end:

1. going shopping and witnessing lazy-shoppers leaving their shopping cart by their car, instead of taking them to the designated cart-corral in the parking lot.
2. software sites that dont offer screenshots of their products.
3. aggressive product fan-boiz (Apple, Ford, etc.)
4. messy people.
5. people who treat ADHD as an excuse for their/someones behavior, and state they/someone has the condition based on their ill-educated perspective.

What annoys me is people like that stupid woman driver who almost caused an accident this morning due to her blatant disregard for others - because she was trying to apply her eye make-up while driving down the highway.

She drifted way too close to my lane.  That caused me to have to swerve a bit and I squeezed my jelly donut too hard, causing the insides to squirt out onto my pants!!  And when I looked down to see how much of a mess the jelly caused my cell phone slipped out of its comfortable position - nestled between my shoulder and ear - and fall....right into my coffee mug FULL of coffee, which was sitting on the driver's seat between my legs.  And the coffee just erupted and went all over the keyboard of my notebook PC, which was balanced sooo nicely on my knee, kind of.  Then because the hot coffee was really HOT, I wriggled around a lot and that caused the notebook, already smoking from the coffee that spilled on the keyboard, to fall completely off my knee!!  As I leaned over to try and pick up the notebook my cigarette slipped right out of my lips and down the front of my shirt, making these weird looking burn marks all over my chest!

I mean, this woman could have killed me!!  The FOOL!!

Worst part was -- I really wanted that darned jelly donut!!  That was really annoying.

There's a difference between suffering from a disorder, and hiding behind a disorder and excusing everything and yourself because of it.. and behaving like a total jerk. Using an illness/disorder as a bad excuse for being ill-mannered is pretty unfair to the people that really suffer and try to cope with it.

This really annoys me. Its people who force themselves into your lane by riding up as far as they can in the ending lane. You know, the lane that had a sign 2 miles ago stating that it was ending in 2 miles. These people choose to push as far as they can past the end of the lane only to cut in front of everyone else. You mainly see this when there is a lot of traffic and people just have to get that extra 10 seconds saved by not merging where they should have.

This IS annoying Josh. What annoys me is the presumption of it... and the futility. Really, all that is accomplished is a lot of seething resentment on the part of the people who were forced to let the jerk in...
