I've decided that all of my software programs will now come with official cocktail recipes.

This week I give you "Process Tamer - The Drink"

If you use my Process Tamer program and you are an alcohol drinker then you are obliged to try making this drink:


Process Tamer - The Drink
1 shot vodka
1/2 shot lemon juice
1 tsp canned cranberry juice concentrate and
1 tsp any other flavor canned juice concentrate.
1 drop of bitters - optional.
Shake with ice.
Pour and add 2 shots of seltzer afterwards.

The real irony, here is. . . last I knew, you weren't much of an alcohol drinker mouser. Has that changed, or are you pumping untested fluid into the masses?

i don't really drink cocktails/mixed drinks.. i'd much rather go for a few pints of guinness at the pub.

but all tinkerers like to tinker, regardless of the materials.  experimenting with a cocktail shaker and miscelaneous ingredients is fun.

Fair enough, just so long as you're not packing in questionable content that you yourself haven't test driven first!

As for Guines, I was pleasantly surprised to find Ruby Tuesday (The finest dining within 200 miles of my home!) has recently added it to their draft.  Good times!

I've enjoyed many a good time at Ruby Tuedays myself! However, if it is the finest dining experience to be had within 200 miles of you, you have my condolensces! Seriously, though, you're in Maine. Maine! There's not a lobster shack near you with better grub (albeit sans the Guinness, no doubt)?

While the subject of alcohol is up, I thought I'd recommend something a friend shared with me last weekend.  Glenfiddich, it is a scotch whiskey with quite the pleasant, relaxing, yet not tiring buzz.  It comes in variations from 12 up to 50 years old, but 12 worked fine for us.  Pour some into a low ball glass filled with ice, let it sit 20-30 minutes before sipping it.  Take it slow and don't have more than 2 glasses the first time, and never more than 3 after that.  We drank two each, over the course of 3-4 hours.  I'm not much for scotch or whiskey, and I normally get a migraine headache from drinking, but this was definitely a good experience.

vegas - if you're feeling adventurous, try an Abelour or a Cardhu - sublime. Also, the Scotch (whisky based) liquers - Drambuie is AWESOME.

PS something tells me that my spelling of Abelour is off. Way off  embarassed My bottle is long gone so can't check!

Glenfiddich is good
but I'd prefer a bottle of irish whiskey myself ...
but then it's what I grew up with (no - wasnt bottle-fed it tongue)

but it is much "sweeter" than scotch (I'm slow to say that because it's not a sugary sweetness - I cant abide sweet drinks/liquers myself)
pretty much anyone is good (Jameson and Tullamore dew are commonly enough available, if you want 12 year old - Jameson, Redbreast, Tullamore dew - surprised to see though the 12yr old Glenfiddich is cheaper undecided)

My recipie:
Pour a small glass of whiskey
add a very small dash of water (to taste, but not too much!)
put your feet up
sip

tastes best when it's wet and cold outside

Tom's right about the splash of water... I didn't want to say anything about the ice, but, well, Tom's er, broken the ice! So there. I tend to drink whisky's neat myself, but a splash of water really does enhance the flavour.

Except, instead of Bacardi 151, go with Gosling Bros. Black Seal 151 -- it's a much more richer, flavorful rum and every bit as flamable. (and for actual drinking, you can't beat their 80 proof Black Seal)

I make a distinction between drinking and shooting. I don't enjoy leisurely sipping 151 proof so much.
