Reviewer and ProductI have no relationship with MixMeister at all, there's no money involved. I am a fan of their products (up to v6, v7 is scary), and I never bought from them (bad, bad scannie)
Intro:
MixMeister Express 6 is an entry-level DJ Mixing software that allows you to create mix-CDs easily. The lack of dual-soundcard (preview) support renders it unusable for live performance tho.

MixMeister Express 6

Who is this app designed for:
This app is designed for anyone who likes listening to music, and likes silky-smooth transitions, but has no DJ equipment. No tech-knowledge is necessary to use it.

The Good

* Lovely Interface
* Nice sound quality
* Easy to Use
* Not expensive
* Mix-points and transitions are easy to customize.
The bad

* Lack of beat-matched overlays (loops)
* Lack of dual-soundcard support
* Lack of effects support
* Has to be ran in fullscreen mode (full.ahk or similar) if resolution is < 800x600
How does it compare to similar apps
Hmm... Let's see. It is NOT similar to any DJ apps i'm aware of (DSS DJ, Mixxx, Traktor, Deckadance, you name it). Acoustica Mixcraft comes close, but can't match the awesome beatmatching thing MM does.

Conclusions
If you're a vinyl fan, or you like tweaking knobs, scratching, or hand-mixing, this is NOT the software for you. If you want to drop a playlist, tweak the mixes a bit, and enjoy the music... What are you waiting for to buy it?

Check out what I've been able to do after a few minutes of playing with it: http://www.box.net/rssdownload/129475249/MixMeister%20Express%206%20Mix.rar

I bet the bandwidth cost is paid by the free advertising :)
