Online Content Editor
« on: January 31, 2008, 02:13 PM »
Hi guys!

I'm looking for an online cotent editor...something like CutePHP but that is less post-like...something basically that would allow me to log in and make changes to that certain page without having to edit the HTML page and re-up it.

Hope I've been clear enough, thank you for your time,

RP08.

Sounds like a Content Management System ("CMS") to me. There are specialized systems like wordpress which is primarily used for weblogs or phpbb which is primarily used as a forum. Then there are more general and much more complex ones, like plone or drupal.

Or you sign up to one of the many online free blog services. This might be the easiest way to get started, because you won't have to install anything, just give away your email address :)

Some can be filled with content by web form or desktop software; others require only a set of GNU tools, or even less: only the bash shell! (Check their project goals too)

Note: the links I provided are only examples of software; there is much much more, so much more, you might be overwhelmed by choices. Which leads me nicely to my question:

Can you tell us what you want to accomplish besides editing your own pages?

Hmm ok then, thanks! I'll check those out.

I make websites and was just wondering if there is a easier way to edit a page just by logging in, like I say, something similar to CutePHP...just less post-like.

Thanks for your help.

there are several scripts that allow you to easily edit your website pages online without using a content management system, as you seem to be asking for, but i don't know the names.. hopefully someone will post.
