Microsoft Sync Framework

(1/2) > >>

PPLandry:
Hello everyone,

I'm the developper of SQLNotes (www.sqlnotes.net), an Ecco-like, URp-like information organizer. Part of modern applications is syncing with:
1- other apps (Outlook, Google, etc)
2- replicas from co-workers
3- off-line replicas with on-line master

Microsoft recently released the Microsoft Sync Framework: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/sync/default.aspx

This seems quite powerful. Any of you have experience using it, or have read positive/negative reviews?

Thanks

PPLandry:
bump... Anybody has any experience with this ?

I believe you could probably get a number of good user reviews from the actual Sync Framework forum
http://forums.microsoft.com/sync/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=1912&SiteID=75.

There are also a number of blogs...

Renegade:
The dev. forum here is relatively quiet compared to others. Check the ASP or JoS. You might get more answers there.

PPLandry:
Microsoft sync framework 1.0 was just released!

I'm looking at finding keen coders that would be willing to invest some time learning the Microsoft Sync Framework and eventually write the custom data provider for SQLNotes (www.sqlnotes.net). The aim is to use it to provide transparent sync with many apps (Outlook, GCalendar, etc.) and devices (pda's, phones etc).

I've created a public group on Diigo (bookmarks, web page clippings and annotations, forum) here:
http://groups.diigo.com/groups/sqlnotes_sync. There are a few links already. Do not hesitate to contribute as it is opened to all.

This is a unique opportunity to learn 2 new technologies : MS Sync and SQLNotes, plus of course significant contributions will be rewarded!
