Hey TinJaw: what do you think about maintaining this list in your original post? That way it's easy to see the latest  :-\

I purchased the toolset license about four years ago.  Last year (or maybe the year before that?) I saw that they had upgraded some tools and I downloaded and installed them, but the registration key didn't work.  I wrote them and asked about it and was told that my license, while good for as long as I had it, was only good for the version I originally purchased and if I wanted the updated stuff I had to purchase again.

That bummed me out a bit since that proviso was not listed on their site when I had purchased; they added that much later.

I will say that when I complained about that they did offer me a complimentary key for the later versions to placate me.  I declined, though.  I wasn't trying to wheedle a free ticket. Just thought that adding that after I purchased was a little unfair. Either way, with all the "tools" you get, I mostly just used the PDF creator.

It's time to do this. I will make the purchase and then ask you all to give me your share of the cost as a donation.

Can the following people please chime in that they are ready to purchase this week:

    * darwin
    * Perry Mowbray
    * cranioscopical
    * wraith808

Not interested in jumping in Jim? With the multiple licence discount you'd be getting the whole shebang for the price of the PDF-Suite?  :Thmbsup:

Before you make the final purchase, you might contact them and ask if they might be willing to make the bulk price-per-order discount available to dc members as a whole.  They'd still get the guaranteed purchases from you guys, plus a few more.

No thanks, Perry.  I have Nuance's PDF Converter Professional 5 installed, and that is pretty extensive but has a lot of hooks into the OS.  Having too many PDF programs might get a little "conflicting"!!  ;D  (Besides, I also have had the Cute PDF driver installed for a while - very nice free PDF creator!)

Thanks!

We use Cute at work: and it's pretty bullet proof.

Nice suggestion mouser: will you tinjaw, or I don't mind?

Received a reply back from Software995:
Thank you for your inquiry.  We appreciate the offer.  However, at this point, we're not going to take you up on this.

Pity  :(

So, we're right to go then?

Thanks for trying, Perry, appreciated!

I guess one should always ask

I know I'm probably preaching to the choir in this thread but...

Following a remark made on this site somewhere, I've occasionally called software vendors, prior to a purchase, to ask if there is a discount or promotion.  Surprisingly many either have something available or will create an on-the-spot discount.

We just need wraith808 to say go and then I will order.

That's what I (we) were hoping for... I had some recent success in other areas that will be available during the fundraiser, but it's good to come back to earth again  :)

 :-[ We're already getting a discount anyway, right? It was probably a little cheeky, but exposure here is definitely a win-win situation: so there's no harm in trying...

Oh!  Go!

And I don't see why they *wouldn't* take you up on it... it's not like they were losing business, but more like gaining it.  Oh well...

Everybody is here. I will place the order tonight and then report back to you all what your cost will be. You can then donate the appropriate amount of credits and I will have mouser transfer them to my PayPal account.

Couldn't we just pop them into your PayPal account directly?
