First of all, welcome to the forums.

About the game... View|Source Code hasn't killed anyone so far. Try http://americandadvs...milyguy.com/main.swf
I'm still downloading it to check for dependencies, but give it a shot.

Again, welcome to DC! :)

If you have a link such as you have displayed, then generally if you right-click and choose "Save As" you can download it to your PC, unless the server has restrictions on it.  Try what I said and let us know.  If you don't understand, just let us know and we can try again. :)

I forgot to tell you if you left-click it will not give you the chanc to save.  It will only execute on your computer.

It appears to me that the the game you want has too many files and has the possibility of not even working even after downloading them all. For example two of the files is Chris.swf, intro.swf... I found these out via the Maxthon 2 sniffer log. :)

Hi papoj1,

Actually, I have quite some mixed feelings about this post, but for the learning purpose I am going to do it nevertheless.

As pointed out earlier the problem is easy to identify. You need to download quite a few additional files to run the game locally.
To identify the needed files you can use a program like URL Snooper, a Flash-Decompiler or even a Hex-Editor. Using one of these tools you might be able to identify the missing files. To play the game locally you need to download all of the following files from http://americandadvsfamilyguy.com/:

  • main.swf
  • intro.swf
  • RyuB.swf
  • Stan.swf
  • Brian.swf
  • Steve.swf
  • Lois.swf
  • Peter.swf
  • Stewie.swf
  • Roger.swf
  • Klaus.swf
  • Hayley.swf
  • Chris.swf
  • Francine.swf
  • Meg.swf

All these files must be placed in the same folder. If you now open the main. swf in your browser the intro should load and you should be able to play the game locally.

Hope this helps,
Marc

Here you go,Go Crazy. I downloaded all the swf files that mhb listed, and put them in a folder, and then zipped that folder up, and put it on filebeam, so you can download it and play ADvsFG. Now Excuse me while I go play it.

The fact that you're trying to excise a message saying "this has been stolen" suggests that it has, in fact, been stolen. If that's the case, then your question really isn't appropriate here.

If it were just a SWF that someone put out there without any stated restrictions, that would be one thing. But if they've taken some steps to prevent you from downloading it and running it locally -- even if these steps can be easily circumvented -- that should make it clear that the terms under which they're licensing you to use the game do not allow for you to do it that way.

k, understood...so the only way is a permission from the creators and a little pay (like it said somewhere on atomfilms website) which means...hopeless :|

in all fairness -- this may be a message meant to show when one website embeds a flash created in another, so that the thief website can get all the credit and visitors.  if you are downloading it for your own private use on your pc this may not be an issue.  don't know about this particular case, i'm just pointing out one possibility.
