An apology
« on: January 22, 2008, 05:11 AM »
Hello All,

I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for causing such a disruption in the "flow" of DC. :(   My reason for taking my actions were not intended to harm and I feel I had valid reasons for trying to communicate something out of frustration I wasn't capable of doing verbally...

... but regardless of my intentions, the results were not painless for many and for that I am truly sorrowful.  Please accept my apologies for any harm you may have incurred.

"Thank You" to Mouser and the senior staff for allowing my return.

I am glad to be back.

I've already expressed privately how dissapointed I was in your actions deleting all the posts, and how distruptive (and disrespectful) I thought it was.

But everyone makes mistakes and everyone deserves a second chance, and i appreciate the sentiment of your post.  Allow me to be the first to say welcome back.  And please don't do it again!

Hopefully we can get the posts restored and get things back the way they were.

And I hope the rest of the forum can demonstrate that we are graciously willing to give people a second chance when they ask for it.

Welcome back CodeTRUCKER.

Hopefully everyone learned some useful lessons (I know I did). Now let's all get on and enjoy life  :-*

Couple of useful quotes (aimed at DC as a whole not individuals):

"You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist."

 Friedrich Nietzsche

"The test of courage comes when we are in the minority.
The test of tolerance comes when we are in the majority."

 Ralph W. Sockman

Let's hope we can ALL learn to be courageous and tolerant together with mutual respect.

codeTrucker,

I was disappointed by your deletions and was among those who felt you had caused damage to the community's body of work. However, I believe you are sincere in your apology and I'm glad you're being given a second chance.

I'm not as good as Carol when it comes to appropriate quotes, so you'll have to settle for a joke. The Pope, an atheist, and a midget walk into a strip club...  ;)

Are we doing quotes? Here's one of my favorites, sorta a propos

If I knew for a certainty that a man was coming to my house with the conscious design of doing me good, I should run for my life.

Doh! It's a propros... I knew that! Really! I did...  n't  :(

This reminds me of the time, at about 26, that someone pointed out to me that it's "thank you" and not "thankyou"...

Welcome back CodeTRUCKER. Everyone knows human beings make mistakes from time to time, but the important thing is to learn from those mistakes and apply the knowledge in the future :)

So, someone wants to make a haiku to continue DC's recent tradition? ;D

All I know, is that if I were held accountable for every bad thing I did in my past (and future), I'd be locked up, emotionally and financially bankrupt, and perhaps under psychiatric care.  It is only thru forgiveness of others and perhaps the grace of a higher being that I am free, lovable and sane.

I forgot to credit my sanity also to the tin foil hat I wear to keep the aliens out.....note....aluminum foil won't work.....you need good old fashioned tin foil.

Your quotes provoke me. :)  Here's mine...

I spent a lot of time trying to come to grips with my doubts when suddenly I realized I had better come to grips with what I believe.  I have since moved from the agony of questions I can not answer to the reality of answers I can not escape and it is a great relief. :)

Welcome back CodeTRUCKER.

I have this to say in reference to past incidents...

Tolerance is a 2 way street. If you expect me to tolerate you, you must also be willing to tolerate me. If you expect me to make allowances for you, you must also be willing to make them for me.

Give what you expect to get in return. This works with communities as well as individuals.

And never give what you are unwilling to part with, because even if you don't get back what you expect, it's still not right to take back what you have given.

When you decided to take back all you gave, I found some of it hurtful on a very personal level. I couldn't help but take that personally. It was like a slap across my face.

Luckily, I am a very forgiving person.

<edit> thank you for restoring it  :)</edit>

Since it seems we are posting our favorite quotes...

One of my favorite quotes is in my signature. And if you would like to read where it came from:

How to be Creative

Heck, I was busy for a week or so and wasn't here much at all.  I didn't even know anything happened regarding all this!  Better that way, more than likely!  Anyway, welcome back dude!

My quote, with due respect for Carol's Nietzsche quote:
"When you go your way and I go mine."

Like J-Mac, I didn't notice much either. Anyway, from what I can infer, you deleted all the posts you had made to date? I didn't even know that was possible. You would have to individually edit and delete the contents of each post?

Anyhow, welcome back.

...Oh, and here's the obligatory quote : "Flatter me, and I may not believe you. Criticize me, and I may not like you. Ignore me, and I may not forgive you. Encourage me, and I may not forget you." - Sir William Arthur

J-mac, icekin (and anyone else that this is a surprise to),

Thank you for your kind words.  I am sorry that you had to be exposed to all this since you were not directly involved, but I wanted to make sure that anyone who had been affected (hurt) by my post deletions knew that I was truly sorrowful that I had caused it.

I'm not forgiving person, life never gave me second chance to fight back.i paid price for what i done,i'm not like those who do some mistake and get off easily.thats why i dont beleive in god,i belive in humanity than religion or god .

I don't know how you do it(deleting posts) on this forum. But you apologised for what u did soyou deserve second chance.

I think everyone deserve the second chance.(except me casue i never got any & i dont need any)......For me i've to find something on my own.

Just remember when you've problem with others and depressed or don't know anything to do,just went your aggression out on video game man... >:(  Play games like serious sam, quake & any other with higher difficlty level on.Just let your negative forces be quite,i know if you can't beat simple AI in game then what's the point beating others in the world.
