So I will take a hint from Tinjaw and start a new topic.  I am always on the look out for any kind of Windows software written for education that is free.  It seems we are always looking for typing programs particularly for K-2 grades.  Trying to find free networkable, server installed software is has been difficult. 

Also if anyone has any free server software that will help administer a Windows network running Windows 2003 I would love to hear it.

Since our 3 schools are each in a different town that is 7 and 12 miles apart and 19 miles from end to end, I do a fair amount of running.  If it wasn't for UltraVnc I would go crazy.

Why don't you go round up some of your k-12 buddies and come up with some "Coding Snacks For Educators". Have them join DC and contribute to the conversation. One of my New Years anti-resolutions was to do a coding snack each month for 2008. It would be nice to have at least one be for educators.

One of the things alot of our users struggle with is how to easliy resize pictures for the web or to send via email.  Our yearbook and web design classes use Adobe Photoshop but it is too difficult for the avarage user.  Our current web hoster doesn't allow uploads any larger than 1 meg in size.  They have not been able to tell us what size to resize them to or what program to use other than Photoshop.

I have looked on the net for programs but most have more than one option to resize them to.  I believe that something like 320 x 240 or 96 dpi would work but do not know for sure.

Its too bad there isn't some program that would allow us to browse for the location of the picture and select it and then have a "web" button or "email" button that would automatically resize it to the correct size and also be below the 1 meg limit.

Any ideas??
