Never gets past "Testing WinPcap Adapter" state on startup
« on: January 03, 2008, 09:19 AM »
I just installed URL Snooper (sounds like a great program!), but it does not seem to be working.  The program opens its window, but it posts the following status at the bottom and never goes any farther:

"Testing WinPcap Adapter for generic dialup and VPN capture (IP ...) at http://donationcoder...ebsiteOnlineTestfile"

What is happening here?  Is it really stuck doing something (and if so, why), or is it just misleading me and is really ready?  If it's ready, I do not see it doing anything.  I'm running WinXP Pro.

Thanks for the help.

I've attached a screenshot of what I see.

it sounds like its trying to use the wrong network adapter and getting stuck for some reason.
switch to advanced mode (from file menu), and choose your adapter manually.  Disable automatic network adapter detection while you are in advanced tab as well.
