Here are my few cents:

1:
Some programs / tasks should be able to use the whole screen, and not bee affected by DesktopCoral. Maybe make a list like in Prosess Tamer?

2:
The opacity is really confusing.  I would suggest to remove the ability to have a background-option in DesktopCoral, and rather have a "switch" ON/OFF for making it invisible.

3:
Option of having a taskbaricon or not. it would be nce to just open main exe again to get the prefs-window. But this isnt half as important to me as 1 & 2.

#1) unfortunately i dont know any way to do this, but i can make it so you can double click on the tray to toggle it on and off, which would make it easier to use full screen when you want

#2) i agree with the switch, i will do that.

#3) i'll think about.. may i suggest one of the many utils that can hide system tray icons and collect them all to show in one menu - they are very useful for hiding tray icons you dont need.

#4:
must the window be the same length as the screen?
(see the screencapture I have in the other post, could Coral just be made to cover that part?)
Why?
When maximizing its great the way it works, but when a window shows up over the tray (from winamp, or gaim) it is also moved to the left because Coral is docking the hole screen side.

i'm afraid this is a behavior that comes with the approach - these programs think that this area is being used by another program and so they are avoiding it by default..

I've got RocketDock on my PC and I think DesktopCoral is a really useful program to go along with it. I can get DesktopCoral to run automatically when I start Windows, with all the settings unchanged, but I still have to drag it to the bottom of my screen each time. So I'm suggesting that it would be really nice if DesktopCoral can dock itself automatically (make it an option, of course). Thanks!

try this:
  • exit desktop coral once after you have docked it where you want it.
  • then see if it remembers its setting thereafter (there is a known bug where it loses its settings when machine reboots or shutdown).
