OUT OF DATE OLD VERSION -> Unicode Text-to-Image v1.00.01
« on: October 09, 2005, 02:24 PM »
Unicode Text-to-Image is a program to let you create images from text, especially Unicode or Nonstandard Font Text. It is useful for adding unicode text as images in graphics applications that cannot directly support Unicode.

I will make a download available for beta testing in next couple of days.
This tool is also being integrated into Screenshot Captor in order to support Unicode text boxes.

Key features:
Embeds the formatted richtext inside images (jpg, tiff, png) so that you can simply reopen (drag+drop supported) the image to recover and edit the original formatted text.
Saves images with transparent backgrounds -- ideal for overlaying text images on other images.

[old download link removed]

p.s.
i would *love* to hear from anyone who thinks this program will actually be useful to them for some task about how they might use it and what features might be added to make it more useful, though i realize those most likely to find it useful are probably not native english speakers.

Hi  ~(,, ,,°> Thank you again. Love your tiny friendly installs! Nice little toy. I  played with it, and few comments:
1.)   When I save image with an existing file name in the same location – it doesn’t ask me if I want to overwrite it, it just does.
2.)   It only saves what is showing and size that is showing. In other words if you have to scroll down to see text- it won’t show on the image.
3.)   When I paste, for example ascii art, it loses its formatting – artwork doesn’t look correct.

PS. Mouser- would you please use mouser mp3 player  :p

=^o^=

its mainly meant for unicode text BUT if you have text that requires fixed formatting like ascii art
the solution is to load the text, select it all,
and then select a fixed ascii format font.

but you gave me an idea to add a button to do that with one click, for such things.
i will add to next version.

i will add save confirm option.

as for capturing only what is shown, yep i'm afraid that is how it currently works.. maybe can make a fix for that sometime in future but currently thats a limitation.

Ah yes of course to the ascii matter, thx mouser.
Possible use for your util-
Simple way for ‘document template sites’ that offer samples of what they sell like contracts, letters, deeds, etc. and do not want to post them in easy to copy paste text and skip the screenshot step.
