I figured that since we have a "3 favorite programs" thread, why not a portable one? I am always interested in seeing what programs are used portably.
Mine are as follows:
Roboform Portable OpenOffice Portable FoxIT Reader Portable

Visual Basic 6? Portable Photoshop? Portable Nero 7? Although a quick search in Google questions the legality of all three

I'll have to think about that one⦠hummm my 3 favorite portable apps⦠but I wanted to mention http://www.pendrivelinux.com/ . It's really fun to have an OS on a pendrive. The only ones I used as such in the past were puppy linux and MCNlive. they worked really well. pendrivelinux.com offers different sections and one is about portable apps : http://pendriveapps.com/. A very good selection of portable apps, many of them run on Windows (like Winamp, Pidgin, EssentialPIM...)

Check out http://www.winpenpack.com/main/news.phpYes, in Italian, but you can switch to english in the top right of the page. Prefer the interface to the portableapps one.

Definitely a thread in need of revival (can't believe this thread got so lost). OK, so three just isn't enough...
PStart (Portable Launcher) XYPlorer (File Manager) foobar2000 (Audio Player) Firefox Portable 3.0.10 (Internet Browser) File Locator Pro (Search Tool) EmEditor (Text Editor) IMGBurn (Media Burner) Batchrun (.bat Compiler) FARR (Yes, I finally installed it mouser!)
Anyone else have some new favorite portable apps 1.5 years later.....

PStart, Portable Notepad++ and all the NirSoft and Sysinternals apps on the biggest USB stick you can afford. If you're a network or server tech, don't leave home without it.
