15 Biggest Tech Disappointments of 2007

No surprise that Microsoft heads the list of tech disappointments for 2007. Apple comes in second with its iPhone price cut and multiple Leopard faults.



Dan Tynan of PC World has the full list, but Microsoft leads everyone with Zune, Office 2007, and of course, Vista. Just to go back in the time machine, here's what PC World teased us with Vista back in late 2006. The silver lining in the software cloud that was 2007 is that more people tried — and stayed with — their new OS. Most every new OS X and GNU/Linux user was a former Windows user. The rest of the list is interesting, as Tynan explains how relevant Net Neutrality is now.

I don't understand why some products are on that list, considering critical and market success, and lack of heavy bashing against them (unlike Vista ;D). Also, as always happens with these kind of lists, they're too U.S. centered, half of what's mentioned there does not bother the rest of the world.

One of my biggest disappointments: flash- and hybrid drive performance (or the lack of it), especially considering their insane pricetags. But it'll hopefully get better & cheaper, to the point where we'll all go zooooom.

That's because the rest of the world doesn't matter. :P

Actually, I think it's because most of these lists are written by US companies/websites so all they know is US tech, plus they're writing for a US audience.
